Short answer
Types of aliens in UFO lore are folklore categories - Greys, Nordics, Reptilians, Mantids, and related labels - used to sort contact and abduction stories. AnomalyWiki treats them as cultural types with evidence grades and mainstream context, not verified biological species.
Overview
Search demand for “types of aliens,” “alien species,” and “alien races” clusters on one informational list: a taxonomy of how modern UFO and New Age subcultures name recurring visitor figures. The four labels that dominate popular explainers are Greys (abduction-era small humanoids), Nordics (fair-featured “Space Brothers” from 1950s contactee books), Reptilians (lizard-humanoid conspiracy and fringe accounts), and Insectoid or Mantis beings (non-human overseers in some experiencer narratives).
None of those categories has a publicly verified type specimen or accepted biology. AnomalyWiki therefore grades testimony and documentation quality, keeps franchise fiction (e.g. Xenomorph) out of this list, and expands child pages only when a dedicated entry is drafted and reviewed.
The only published live child today is Nordic Aliens - tall, fair-featured humanoids from mid-century contactee lore, evidence grade D. Forthcoming type pages planned from the content strategy alien set include Greys, Pleiadians, Tall Whites, Reptilians, Mantis aliens, Arcturians, and related labels; they will appear in the live table only after each .mdoc exists. Until this list reaches eight qualifying published children, the hub stays non-indexable under our scaled-content guardrail even though the keyword is Tier 1.
How we choose entries
Include beings primarily discussed as UFO-contact or abduction “races” or types in modern ufology and New Age lore. Each live child must have a published beings entry with evidence grade, mainstream consensus, and sources.
Fictional franchise species belong under fictional aliens. Cryptids and culture-specific mythical beings belong in their own silos. Do not add forthcoming titles to childSlugs until the page exists.
The list
Published (live children)
| Name | Region / context | Type | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nordic Aliens | UFO contactee lore (global; US mid-century cases prominent) | humanoid | D |
Forthcoming typology (not live children)
These titles are planned from the AnomalyWiki alien-type roadmap. They are not linked as published entries and must not be treated as live childSlugs.
| Planned type | Typical lore niche | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Greys / Zeta-style Greys | Abduction-era small humanoids | Highest cultural recognition; page forthcoming |
| Pleiadians | New Age / channeling overlap with Nordics | Separate entry to avoid label conflation |
| Tall Whites | Charles Hall–adjacent contactee cluster | Distinct from classic Nordics |
| Reptilians / Draconians | Conspiracy and fringe accounts | High noise; careful sourcing |
| Mantis / Insectoid aliens | Experiencer “overseer” motifs | Non-human proportions emphasized |
| Arcturians / Sirians / Lyrans | New Age star-origin labels | Bundle only if unique fields justify pages |
| Little Green Men | Mid-century press / pop motif | Cultural history angle |

FAQ
What does “types of aliens” mean on AnomalyWiki? Folklore and contactee categories used in UFO lore - Greys, Nordics, Reptilians, Mantids, and related labels - graded by evidence, not treated as verified biology.
Are these proven species? No. Check each entry’s evidence level and mainstream consensus line. Published Nordics are graded D (folklore / legend-style testimony clusters).
Which types are live versus forthcoming? Live now - Nordic Aliens only. Forthcoming planned pages include Greys, Pleiadians, Tall Whites, Reptilians, Mantis aliens, and Arcturians; they join the table only after publish.
Why is Xenomorph not on this list? Franchise fiction belongs under fictional aliens. This hub covers claimed UFO-lore types, not cinema species.
Why is the hub non-indexable? List hubs need at least eight qualifying published children before we set indexable: true, per scaled-content guardrails.
